Milan stocks close down 3.49 percent as bank shares dive

(MENAFN- AFP) The Milan stock market fell 3.49 percent on Thursday to close at 18.190 points, dragged down by plunging bank shares after investors failed to be convinced by a 'bad bank' deal between Italy and the EU.

The Banca Popolare di Milano led the declines, closing down 9.81 percent, followed by the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (BMPS), which lost 7.88 percent.
