Qatar- Emir patronises military college graduation


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the graduation ceremony of the 11th batch of officer candidates at Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College.

Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday patronised the graduation ceremony of the 11th batch of officer candidates at Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani ministers top army officers and commanders of military colleges of sisterly and friendly countries. As the Emir arrived at the podium the band played the national anthem. The commander of the parade came forward and requested the Emir to review the parade by the graduates. The ceremony began with recitation of verses of the Holy Quran and the graduates performed the parade in slow and normal march.

The Emir honoured the outstanding graduates. The 11th batch handed over the flag to the 12th batch. An order for promotions was read out and the graduates took the oath.

In his address Commander of the college Major General Hamad Ahmed Al Nuaimi expressed gratitude to the Emir for honouring and gracing the ceremony and congratulated the Emir on the graduation of the batch of Qatari cadets.

The batch includes 89 cadets for the Armed Forces police Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya) Emiri Guard and State Security in addition to other nationals from UAE Kuwait and Libya Al Nuaimi said.

He said that under the Emir’s vision for the college to be a meeting place and a source of establishing friendship with sisterly states the collage received for the first time students from Jordan and Tunisia to join the 15th batch.

After the ceremony the Emir opened the Watersports Complex at the college. It includes latest equipment according to international standards for water sports and treatment and rehabilitation therapies.

The Emir also met heads of military colleges from Gulf Arab and friendly countries at the college. Talks dealt with topics of mutual interest. The Premier was present.
