11th German citizen dies following ISIL attack in Istanbul


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) A 63-year-oldGermanwoman who was injured in a jihadist suicide attack in Istanbul’sSultanahmetneighborhood two weeks ago has succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment in a Berlin hospital.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the death of Birgit Glorius to theGermannewspaper Berliner Kurier.

The woman’s husband 72-year-old Adolf Jürgen Glorius was immediately killed in the attack.

A Saudi-born Syrian national Nabil Fadli conducted the suicide attack against aGermantour group on the morning of Jan. 12 in the vicinity of the Hippodrome in Sultahahmet. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was blamed for the assault its fourth on targets in Turkey following attacks last year in Diyarbakr Suruç and Ankara.
