Qatar's healthcare spending to reach USD 12bn by 2024

(MENAFN) Qatar forecasted to view an estimated spending of almost USD 12bn by 2024, a climb of 150 percent compared to USD 4.7bn in 2014.

The healthcare spending increased across the GCC area over the past couple of years, with a five-year CAGR (2010-14) of 11 percent.

Moreover, the sector has been growing upward of 10 percent per annum across Mena region, with notable potential for growth in quality care over the next few years.

Accordingly, Qatar and Oman allocated almost 2.2 percent and 2.7 percent of their GDPs in healthcare, the lowest amid other GCC-member states.
