Kuwait extends 20mln to Jordan's response plan for Syrian refugee crisis


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 25 (Petra) -- Jordan and Kuwait on Tuesday signed an agreement under which the Arab Gulf nation will extend $20 million to Jordan's response plan to the Syrian refugee crisis.

The agreement inked by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury and the Director-General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Abdul Wahab al-Bader seeks to uplift public services in local communities hosting Syrian refugees.

Out of the total $8 million will be dedicated to priority health projects; $7 million will go to the education sector and $5 million to municipalities. Fakhoury thanked Kuwait for its generous support to Jordan to help achieve comprehensive development and grapple with the Syrian refugee crisis.
