Washington aims to offer USD 1.27bn help to Jordan


(MENAFN) The U.S plans to provide USD 1.27bn to Jordan this year, describing the help as an "extraordinary", which reflects Washington's understanding of issues facing Amman.

Moreover, almost 64 percent of the aid proclaimed during the last visit of Jordan's King Abdullah II to Washington will be allocated to the economic sector.

In addition, he praised the planned partnership and distinguished relations between the two countries on all arenas and fields, while 36 percent of aid will go to army.

The U.S economic help to Jordan in 2011-15 stood so far at USD 2.7bn, about USD 1.5bn was allocated to the state's budget, while U.S carried projects worth USD 1bn in education, health and other sectors.
