She said "This is strong evidence of the tournament's success and good reputation. This comes as part of the expansion plans to increase the number of participating countries. Since we launched in 2012 we sought to expand the scope of participation and inspire Arab women to join sports clubs and take sports as a profession. The overall aim is to raise the profile of competitions in various games and consequently increase the number of female players participating in the pan-Arab tournament which will add to its success and help it achieve the desired goals."

Al Naqbi added "So far there are 17 out of 22 Arab countries participating. In the future we hope to see all of them taking part in the tournament. When we first launched in 2012 only 12 countries participated in AWST now it's very heartening to see the increase in the number of countries. We wish Oman and Kuwait success and hope they enjoy the competitions."
