Morocco- Moroccan Man Fails to Pay back Loans Commits Suicide


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) ;">Rabat – A street vendor allegedly committed suicideon Saturdayby hanging himself with a rope on the terrace of his house in El Mellah district in Fez.

In a shocking scene the man approximately 50 years old reportedly killed himself after he failed to pay back his loans to a microcredit organization.

One of the neighbors saw the victim's body hanged on wooden ladder and informed the victim's family and then called the authorities.

The police and civil defense arrived immediately to the scene of the tragedy.

After conducting the usual investigation and screening the crime scene they transferred the body of the victim to the morgue for autopsy by order of the General Prosecutor.

According to family members of the deceased the victim was complaining about his failure to honor his commitments and pay back his debts after sales of his vegetables and fruits went down.

The decrease of his sales and the pressure from the microcredit organization turned his life into hell.

Unable to find a way out the old man killed himself leaving behind a wife and three children.

The General Prosecutor opened an investigation and to interview themembers of thedeceased’s familyto elucidatethe circumstances of his suicide.
