Qatari Delegation Participates in World Economic Forum in Davos


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi led Qatar's delegation participating in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum which was held in the city of Davos, Switzerland, from 20 to 23 January.

The delegation included HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al -Thani, and HE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al -Thani.

The Qatari delegation held a number of important bilateral meetings with high-level officials of various governments, as well as major heads of companies and banks influencing the global economy .

HE the Minister of Finance participated in the meeting, which brought together finance ministers and central bank governors of the participating countries at the invitation of Dr. Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. The meeting discussed the most important economic and financial issues that will determine the features of 2016.

The four-day Forum started themed "Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution" featured panel discussions on a number of the most important global challenges such as fight against terrorism, displacement of refugees, climate change and lower growth in the global economy and the price of energy and commodities. Around 40 heads of state and governments, and more than 2,500 business leaders, experts and academics participated this year's meeting.
