QBA hosts Mexican president commits to enhancing bilateral trade


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatari Businessmen Association organised a private meeting for the QBA members with Mexico's President Enrique Peña Nieto during his recent state visit to Qatar.
Among the prominent guests were HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada; Mexico's Minister of Economy Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal; Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Claudia Ruiz Massieu and Mexican ambassador Francisco Niembro.
From the QBA side, the meeting was attended by chairman HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani; second deputy chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani al-Thani, and QBA members, Khalid al-Mannai, Mohamed Khalid al-Rabban, Nasser Suliman al-Haider, Maqboul Khalfan, Ebrahim al-Jaidah, Sheikh Torki bin Faisal al-Thani and Sarah Abdullah, deputy general manager.

The Mexican president thanked the QBA members for organising the meeting and noted that his visit aimed at discussing further ways of cooperation between the two countries, especially with regard to trade. Nieto stated the importance of the Mexican delegation's visit to Qatar and reiterated his country's desire to further strengthen the bilateral relationship.
He pointed out that promising investment opportunities existed in Mexico, especially in energy, industry, tourism, trade, infrastructure, services and transport sectors.
Sheikh Faisal recalled the highly successful visit to Mexico by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and said the Mexican president's visit would further strengthen the ties between the two friendly countries. He extended all cooperation to Mexican companies looking to enter the Qatari market and highlighted the opportunities that existed in Qatar.
Sheikh Dr Khalid expressed the willingness of Qatari businessmen to visit Mexico and study partnership opportunities in the North American country.
Sheikh Faisal also hosted a gala dinner at his private museum in honour of the Mexican delegation.
