Qatar Signs Participation Agreement in Expo 2016 Antalya


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ankara January 22 (QNA) - HE Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak Al-Shafi in his capacity as a general commissioner of Qatar's pavilion at Expo 2016 Antalya about flowers and children signed on Friday Qatar's participation agreement in the event while the expo's general commissioner Erdogan Kok signed on behalf of the Turkish side.
At the outset of the signing ceremony that was attended by a number of Turkish officials and media personalities HE Al-Shafi addressed the audience and welcomed them and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the government and people of Turkey.
Stemming from the fraternal ties between Qatar and Turkey HE the ambassador said Qatar is glad to take part in Expo 2016 Antalya about flowers and children as a continuity of participation in the events and activities in Turkey throughout the year. HE Al-Shafi noted that this reflects the depth of ties between the two countries and keenness on strengthening them on all fronts.
He added that Qatar's participation will bring a number of aspects that reflect the country's culture and history as well as its strong and developing experiment in the promotion of sustainability and greenhouses in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and efforts of the Qatari government and public and private sector institutions.
As for infrastructure and green buildings and cities HE Al-Shafi said the national agenda aspires to establish Qatar as one of the leading world countries in this field especially at the current phase when it is following up on a huge workshop of facilities and infrastructure related to the 2022 World Cup.
He expressed hope that Qatar will help in conveying the concept of green life and sustainability through the Expo 2016 Antalya onto the whole world. (QNA)
