Thailand Australia pledge anti terrorism pact


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Bangkok Rabi'II 13 1437 January 23 2016 SPA -- Thailand and Australia vowed to sign an anti-terrorism pact and to cooperate in the fight against regional terrorist threats local media reported Saturday according to dpa.
Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon met with Australian Justice Minister Michael Keenan in Bangkok on Friday the Bangkok Post reported.
The two officials discussed the January 14 terrorist attack in Jakarta carried out by followers of Islamic State and they voiced concerns over the group's activities in the region the Post said.
"What we can do I think is to improve cooperation" Keenan said after the meeting. "After sharing the information we have it is going to benefit all of us."
