OPEC basket price for Thursday stands at US22.89barrel

VIENNA 22nd January 2016 (WAM) --- The average price of OPEC's basket of thirteen crudes stood at US$22.89 a barrel on Thursday compared with US$22.48 the previous day according to the calculations by the OPEC Secretariat the executive organ of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

On 21st January last year the price of the basket then made up of twelve crudes from OPEC producers stood at US$43.25 a barrel.

The OPEC Reference Basket of Crudes (ORB) is made up of the following: Murban (UAE) Saharan Blend (Algeria) Girassol (Angola) Oriente (Ecuador) Minas (Indonesia) Iran Heavy (Iran) Basra Light (Iraq) Kuwait Export (Kuwait) Es Sider (Libya) Bonny Light (Nigeria) Qatar Marine (Qatar) Arab Light (Saudi Arabia) and Merey (Venezuela).
