Indonesia starts build work for USD5.6b bullet train


(MENAFN) Indonesia has broken ground on the nation's first ever USD5.6 billion bullet train line, heralding the project as a symbol of major cooperation with China.

This is a definite sign of crucial collaboration between the two neighbors, hence the two trading partners are expected to further expanded ties in other industries.

In more detail, the train should be able to travel up to 350 km an hour between the sprawling capital Jakarta and the mountain-fringed city of Bandung, about 160 km away.

Indonesia's rail transport system has 4 unconnected networks in Java and Sumatra primarily dedicated to transport bulk commodities and long-distance passenger traffic.
