Al Sisi, Jinping discuss boosting ties


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held a meeting in Cairo on Thursday to discuss boosting ties and the recent regional and international developments.Upon his arrival in Egypt yesterday Jinping stressed that China is supporting Egypt's development plan.During his meeting with the Egyptian Prime Minister Sharif Ismail President Jinping said his country was eager to develop the Silk Road Economic Belt.On his part Ismail said the Jinping's visit aimed at expanding comprehensive partnership between the two sides while also encouraging Chinese investments in Egypt.Ismail expressed hope that China would support his country's economic reforms aiming to create stability in the region.The Prime Minister added that Egypt is looking forward to cooperate with China in investment projects mainly in the Suez Canal.Al-Sisi and Jinping are expected to hold a joint press conference on the results of their current meeting. The two presidents will also inaugurate the Chines-Egyptian Cultural Year 2016 at Luxor Temple later today marking 60 years of diplomatic ties.(end) rg.ag
