Jordan- Senate president meets Hungarian ambassador


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 21 (Petra)--Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday discussed with Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan Csaba Czibere Jordanian-Hungarian ties means to further boost them in various fields as well as terrorism and the Syrian crisis.

Fayez said that a solution to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy resolutions is key to solving all political crises in the region.

On Syria the Senate president reiterated Jordan's stance that calls for a political solution to the crisis in Syrian that preserves the unity of the country and its people.

He pointed to the presence of a 1.5 million Syrian refugees in the Kingdom who are placing an increasing pressure on the country's limited resources.

Fayez urged the international community to increase its aid to the Kingdom to enable it to continue its services to the refugees.

On the fight against terrorism he said Jordan is at the forefront of countries fighting terrorism and extremism stressing the need for international efforts as well as a specific strategy to eradicate terrorism and extremism.

The Hungarian ambassador praised Jordan's role towards the Syrian refugees as well as the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II to put an end to crises and conflicts in the region.
