Jordan- Blizzard forecast to hit Kingdom over weekend


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan.21 (Petra) --The weather over the next two days is expected to be relatively cold in the hilly areas and the desert regions while it will be mild in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk with clouds at high altitudes and frost formation under midnight mainly in the hilly areas and the desert regions.

The Kingdom will be affected Saturrday by a cold air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Cyprus sending temperatures down and bringing rainfall along with occasional thunder and hail and gusty winds across the Kingdom the JMD said.

Maximum temperatures expected in Amman today will reach a high of 13 degrees Celsius and a low of 6 degrees at night while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 22 degrees dropping down to 10 at night.
