ANKARA: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Barack Obama spoke on the phone on Tuesday Turkish presidential sources said and pledged continued cooperation in the fight against terrorism primarily Islamic State and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants.

Obama called Erdogan to also offer his condolences for last week’s Istanbul bombing when 10 German tourists were killed in a suicide attack blamed on Islamic State and for an attack in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir carried out by the PKK.
