Qatar- Ministry of Culture to take part in Cairo International Book Fair

DOHA: The Ministry of Culture Arts and Heritage has announced its participation in the 47th Cairo International Book Fair which will take place from January 27 to February 10.

The Ministry will have its own pavilion at the fair in which it will display important Qatari books on Qatari environment and people through the innovative works of Qatari writers and the publications of the Ministry which cover art thoughts and heritage as well as translated books.

The book fair is hosting 34 Arab and non-Arab countries and this year Bahrain will be the guest of honour at the exhibition. Bahrain will present art and culture activities including films and historical documentary about the country. A total of 850 publishing houses consisting of 250 Arab 550 Egyptian and 50 international publishers will be taking part at the expo.

With the them “Culture in the front” the expo will commemorate the late Egyptian writer Gamal El Ghitani. A number of activities symposiums on the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of the Egyptian novelist and Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz. The Peninsula
