Morocco- Shocking Video: Cockroaches Found on Royal Air Maroc Meal Carts

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Anew videoshowing live cockroaches inside a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight has social media users in shock.

The footage was allegedly taken by a passenger onboard a RAM flight from Casablanca to Montreal in December 2015 and posted on Facebook on January 15.

The shocking images which last over a minute show at least half a dozen small and medium-sized cockroaches running around meal carts and crawling in and out of open food cabinets inside the aircraft.

The insects are all around a carton of tomato juice that was left open on the prep counter next to three yogurts that should have also been kept refrigerated as well as hand soap and a box of tissues.

The video pans left and right while the cockroaches run freely all over the visibly dirty aircraft.

According to Telquel news website which sent the video to Royal Air Maroc for an explanation RAM official responded via telephone 'we take this very seriously' and will 'initiate an investigation.'

The airline representative also said 'We do not know when this video was taken or inside which aircraft. We need to go back through the entire supply chain from our providers to understand [what happened].'

However according to the same source RAM official said they 'have never received complaints on cockroaches” from passengers on their flights.

This is not the first time passengers post videos showing cockroaches inside the Moroccan national airline.

In avideoposted on YouTube on August 2015 there appeared to be a couple of dead roaches underneath a passenger seat inside a RAM flight allegedly from Casablanca to Montreal.

Another passengervideouploaded to YouTube on November 2015 reportedly from September 22 2015 inside the same RAM route linking Canada to Morocco a cockroach is seen crawling between the crevice of a dividing panel at the back of the plane after food was served.

While Royal Air Maroc's CEO Driss Benhima said last December during a press conference in Casablanca that RAM seeks to become the best aviation company in Africa the airline faces several complaints and problems.

Last January 4 hundreds of RAM pilots got together at the Moroccan Association of Airline Pilots (AMPL) to boycott the inflight meals that they are served by the airline's catering service Atlas Servair.

Furthermore RAM was sentenced last month to pay a US $4000 fine by a court in Quebec Canada for 'abandonment' of its passengers over a 24-hour flight delay.
