Chinese president arrives in Riyadh on 2 day visit


(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived here today for a two-day visit as part of a Mideast tour that will include stops in Egypt and Iran.
Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport he was received by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense.
He was also received by the Minister of State and Cabinet's member Musaed bin Al-Aiban and a number of officials the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
Xi will be meeting with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman as well as the chiefs of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Xinhua news agency reports Saudi Arabia is China's biggest supplier of crude oil and that China hopes to bolster trade with Arab countries.
Xi's visit is the latest in a diplomatic flurry of visits to Riyadh this week including Pakistan's prime minister on Monday France's foreign minister on Tuesday and the US Secretary of State on Saturday.
