Blast kills 10 people in N. Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD Jan 19 (KUNA) -- At least 10 people were killed and 21 others were wounded in a blast exploded near a security check post in Pakistan's northern Khyber tribal region on Tuesday said officials.According to a senior police official Capital City Police Officer Mubarak Zeb Khan the explosion occurred near Peshawar's Karkhano Market adjacent to Jamrud area of Khyber.The officials confirmed that at least ten people have been killed and around 21 others injured in the blast. The police official said that initial reports suggested that Jamrud Khasadar Line officer Nawab Shah's car was the target of the attack.Security forces have cordoned off the area and a clearing operation is underway.The injured were shifted to the nearby Hayatabad Medical Complex where an emergency has been imposed.
