Four Indian expats caught running liquor factory


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Four Indian expatriates were arrested for running an illegal business of manufacturing liquor in Wafra area. According to security sources, when Ahmadi Security Directorate received information about four Asian expatriates manufacturing liquor in Wafra area, Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa formed a security team for investigations.

After confirming the information, securitymen arrested the four suspects and raided their factory to find 141 barrels of locally manufactured liquor, 37 barrels used for filtering and 420 bottles of liquor.

When questioned, they confessed that they were planning to sell the liquor bottles to their clients. They were referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action

Meanwhile Police in cooperation with the Customs officers at the Shuwaikh Port recently foiled an attempt to smuggle 200 cartons of Red Label Whisky into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the contraband was hidden inside a container loaded with oranges. Police seized a Pakistani company representative who had arrived at the port to clear the cargo.
