Kuwait- Schulz condemns terror attacks in Istanbul, Ouagadougou

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS Jan 18 (KUNA) - President of the European Parliament (EP) Martin Schulz condemned on Monday the terror attacks in Istanbul and Ouagadougou on January 12 and 15 respectively and called for more EU-wide cooperation to counter terrorism.Addressing an EP plenary session in Strasbourg he stressed the need of respect for democratic values and the rule of law and using the police and EU-wide cooperation while combating terrorism.He noted that the New Year began as the old one ended with murderous violence and deep sorrow. After the brutal terrorist attacks in Paris Copenhagen Tunis Jakarta and elsewhere the January 12 attack in the heart of Istanbul Turkey left 10 German EU citizens dead and nine injured some seriously.The January 15 attack in Ouagadougou Burkina Faso killed more than two dozen people from seven countries and injured fifty he noted."This terrorism without borders targets our freedom and threatens us all in Turkey in Europe and elsewhere.
