ActivEX (ASX:AIV) has produced rock chip samples grading as high as 144g/t gold and 6480g/t silver at its Gilberton project in Queensland.

These readings were made in the Percy Queen/Long Lode area a historic prospect which will now be the focus of detailed field follow-up during the next phase of exploration.

The reconnaissance work using portable XRF soil geochemical surveying contributed to the identification of five new gold prospects within the project’s Mount Hogan tenement.

One of these new targets Dorado delivered high grades up to 18.95g/t gold 75.8g/t silver and 0.21% copper.

It also clarified previously identified targets over the Homeward Bound and Josephine areas.

Rock chip samples from Homeward Bound returned high grades with best results in the range 1.1 to 2.06g/t gold 98.9 to 328g/t silver 1.6% to 2% copper and 2.4% to 3.5% lead.

Gilberton is located in an area that is prospective for a number of metals and a wide range of deposit styles.

The world-class Kidston breccia hosted gold-silver deposit occurs in similar geological terrain approximately 50 kilometres to the northeast.
