Jordan- Nationwide cold weather forecast as gusts up to 60 kmh

Amman Jan18 (Petra) -- A tangible drop in temperatures is expected Monday; therefore it will be cold with southwesterly moderate winds and strong gusts with speeds range between 50-60 KM/h.

Clouds will gradually build up during the night with rain in the northern parts of the Kingdom.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) the weather on Tuesday continues to be cold and partly cloudy with heavy rain in the northern and central parts of the country accompanied with thunder and lightening. Hails are also forecast during early morning hours over the hilly areas.

JMD warns against low visibility caused by strong gusts mainly in the southern and eastern regions.

Temperatures expected in the capital for today will reach a high of 12 degrees Celsius and a low of 4 degrees at night. In the northern regions they will range between 13-6 degrees while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 20 degrees Celsius dropping to 9 degrees at night the JMD added.
