UAE- Abdullah bin Zayed receives President of 70th session of UNGA

ABU DHABI 17th January 2016 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foreign Minister today received Mogens Lykketoft President of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During the meeting Sheikh Abdullah and Lykketoft reviewed the main issues related to the Middle East and regional and international efforts to fight terrorism in the region.

They also exchanged views on the activities and topics to be discussed by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week currently being hosted by Abu Dhabi and attended by nearly 33000 participants from more than 170 countries to discuss climate change and international efforts to combat the effects of this phenomenon.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed the UAE's keenness to support the activities and programmes of the United Nations' organisations in order to continue its efforts and effective contributions in all fields.

The meeting was also attended by Tariq Ahmed Al Haidan Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organisations' Affairs.
