Kuwait- Suicide blast kills 13 people in E. Afghanistan

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD Jan 17 (KUNA) -- At least 13 people were killed and 15 others wounded in a suicide blast targeting residence of a public representative in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday said officials.Nangarhar governor's spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told media that the bomb attack on provincial council member Obaidullah Shinwari's house occurred in the third police district of Jalalabad city.He confirmed that 13 civilians were killed and 15 others wounded in the attack. Provincial council secretary Zabihullah Zmaray also confirmed the assault saying many people had gathered at Shinwari's house following the release of his brother by Taliban rebels.Security forces have cordoned off the area and all injured have been taken to nearby hospital.No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack but Taliban rebels have paced up their attacks across Afghanistan.
