Jordan exports 900 tonnes of vegetables fruits per day to Gulf states

Amman 16th January 2016 (WAM)--The Kingdom is exporting 900 tonnes of fruits and vegetables daily to Gulf countries a government official said on Saturday.

According to the Agriculture Ministry Spokesperson Nimer Haddadin daily exports of vegetables and fruits to the Gulf countries have increased rapidly since the beginning of this year compared to the same period in 2014 with 50 refrigerated trucks carrying 900 tonnes of fresh produce leave for the Gulf states.

A total of 500 tonnes of fresh tomatoes alone are exported daily to our brothers in the Gulf countries Hadadin told Jordan news agencyPetra.

Exporting such quantities has positive effect on farmers who would be able to sell their products easily mainly tomatoes he added.
