UAE- FNC Speaker receives GRULAC s president

ABU DHABI 16th January 2016 (WAM) -- Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) has received Roberto Leon the visiting President of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) who is leading a six-country delegation in response to FNC's official invitation.

The visit is aimed at enhancing the parliamentary friendship ties between the FNC and GRULAC which includes 22 countries.

During its one-week visit the delegation will visit the FNC and meet Dr. Al Qubaisi as well as hold a discussion session in the presence of FNC members who are members of the committee of friendship group and Inter-Parliamentary Union group.

The discussions will tackle issues of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation between the FNC Latin America and the Caribbean parliaments in various fields especially ways to exchange parliamentary expertise and coordinate on various parliamentary issues. At the end of the meeting a press conference will be held to review the discussions between the two sides.

The delegation will also attend the opening ceremony of the World Future Energy Summit being hosted by Masdar Abu Dhabi.

Members of the delegation will meet with figures officials and Emirati businesspersons to discuss bilateral relations between the UAE and countries of the group. The meetings will discuss ways to boost relations in various domains as well as the visit to the Zayed University.
