Morocco: Man Sentenced to Six Years for Attempting to Rape a Married Woman


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) The Court of First Instance of El Jadida near Casablanca sentenced a man to six years in jail last Tuesday for attempting to rape a woman in her house under the threat at knifepoint.

According to the Moroccan daily newspaper Assabah in its January 16 and 17 issue the defendant broke into the victim's house and attempted to rape her.

The same source added that the royal gendarmerie of Azemmour arrested the accused after receiving a complaint from the victim a married woman with two children.

The offender resisted and acted violently against the gendarmerie officers before they received backup from their colleagues who managed to disarm and arrest him.

The offender admitted his crimes at the royal gendarmerie headquarter.

The man claimedthat he hadactually boughta bottle of liquorfrom a supermarketlocated in ElJadida andcame back to hisvillage drunkwith the decision totake revenge and rape the woman whose husband is now in prison for raping the offender's wife.
