DAKAR Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait played an integral role in pushing development in Senegal said Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation Mansour Elimane Kane here on Thursday.
This statement came during the Minister's meeting with a delegation of outstanding Kuwaiti students visiting the country.
Kane told KUNA that through Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Senegal had managed to finish several development projects.
He said that KFAED's sponsorship of the Kuwait students' visit to the country would hopefully inform and educate them on the various contributions by the fund.
So far KFAED offered Senegal around KD 110 million in loans to fund several development projects in the West African nation.
The Senegalese-Kuwaiti diplomatic relations dates back to 1971 when Senegal opened its embassy in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti embassy in Dakar was opened in 1981. (end) ns.gta
