Jordan- Prime Minister responds to lawmakers comments on budget


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 14 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday responded to the comments made by lawmakers during their debate of the 2016 budget draft law.

Ensour said that the government's four-year economic policy started when the his government was formed few years ago upon royal directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

In a detailed speech the premier spoke about his government's economic policies and the Kingdom 2025 vision the economic growth projections as well as the impact of growing deficit and falling oil prices on economic growth rates. Ensour also spoke about his government's policy towards the energy sector and the liberation of oil derivatives and electricity prices. Moreover the prime minister spoke about his government's investment in conventional and renewable energy.

While on the podium Ensour spoke about the government's policies to address unemployment and create job opportunities. He also spoke about his government support the SMEs as well as efforts to address poverty and support the tourism sector in the Kingdom.

As for investments the prime minister highlights the milestones in this sector and his government's efforts to attract foreign investments.

Meanwhile Ensour thanked the US Britain France Germany Japan Canada South Korea as well as the new and strong partner China for their continued support to the Kingdom.
