Kuwaiti amb. invites Swiss Nat'l Council Pres. to visit Kuwait

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA Jan 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Switzerland Bader Al-Tunaib handed his Swiss counterpart an invitation to visit Kuwait's National Assembly (the Parliament).The Kuwaiti envoy told KUNA on Thursday that he met President of the National Council of Switzerland Christa Markwalder in her office in Bern where she accepted the invitation.Upon accepting the invitation Markwalder expressed that the Swiss-Kuwaiti parliaments enjoy good relations and have many issues in common especially those concerning democracy and the respect of laws and human rights.The timing of her visit will coincided with the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries.On his part Al-Tunaib similarly expressed that the two parliaments enjoy "strong ties." He pointed out that former Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah's visit to the Swiss Parliament in 2011 created great impact in developing these parliamentary relations. (end) ta.nfm
