Courteney Cox eyeing TV return

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Courteney Cox is eyeing her return to primetime with a new Fox comedy in development, Variety has learned. The Friends alum is set to star in an untitled single-cam comedy from writer Robert Padnick, in which she's also attached as an exec producer. The sitcom revolves around Hailey (played by Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband's charity and quickly finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined.

One of TV's leading funny ladies, Cox became a household name on Friends, starring in the iconic NBC ensembler for all 10 seasons. Following Friends, Cox starred on FX's drama Dirt, which only last two seasons, before top-lining fan-favourite comedy ABC's Cougar Town, which went to TBS halfway through its six-season run. The project marks the first solo order for Padnick, the son of Castle Rock Entertainment co-founder Glenn Padnick, whose writing and producing credits include The Office and FXX's Man Seeking Woman. The up-and-coming comedy writer previously penned a dating sitcom for NBC with Office co-creator Greg Daniels years back, but the project never made it through the development cycle.
