UAE- More than 350 new soldiers join Yemen s government army

ADEN 13th January 2016 (WAM) --- Some 358 former soldiers from the Yemeni National Resistance forces have joined the internationally-recognised Yemeni government army after they received intensive military training provided by armed forces of the UAE and other members of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition A graduation ceremony was held today for the sixth batch of new government soldiers in the presence of Commander of the fourth governorate in Aden Staff Major General Ahmed Saif Al Yafei and high-ranking military commanders from the coalition.

In a parade during the ceremony the new soldiers demonstrated their skills of handling various firearms.

Al Yafei noted that the Yemeni government aims to establish strong Yemeni armed forces that are capable of defending Yemen and protecting public order across its territory.

Due to their high morale and enthusiasm the new recruits were very responsive to training the commander said.

The armed forces of the UAE and other members of the Arab Coalition are providing professional military and security training to the Yemeni National Resistance Forces the core of the country's national army.
