Qatar Charity opens primary school in Comoros

DOHA: Qatar Charity (QC) has opened a primary school for children of Nioumachoua in Moheli in Comoros.

QC’s office in Comoros handed the keys to the school to the families. The school has three classrooms a management room bathrooms and a playground. It has an area of 252sqm and suits the geographical structure of the city. The school aims to enhance the living standards of the students fight illiteracy among children and improve the educational system.

The families thanked QC for its constant efforts and hoped it would prosper in the field of serving the poor and needy. Dahalan the Comoros’ Ambassador in Libya and the People of Nioumachoua Representative thanked QC for its efforts to improve the country’s social and economic status.

“The project will contribute to the development of our country. We also hope such work would continue. Our country has poverty illiteracy and unemployment all of which are diseases that must be treated” he said.

“Education is the first step towards development. We understand that and work according to such belief. Through this school we are giving the children the chance to have a say in their future. We hope they will work hard and develop their country. QC will never spare any efforts to help the needy of the Comoros” said Adabi Ibrahim Representative of QC’s Office in the Comoros. QC has announced the inauguration of 430 income-generating projects including supporting poor families through interest-free loans to implement small economic projects at a cost of QR126800.

QC has supported and developed infrastructure of institutions established a building for official meetings in Moheli and maintained the 17km road connecting Wanani city with Nioumachoua to achieve social communication and encourage tourism.

QC has also contributed to improving the food status of the poor communities through an agricultural project in Azew implemented through an agricultural cooperative. The project provides seeds of banana trees vegetables and pineapples modern agricultural machines and pesticides to improve the agricultural sector.

QC’s support was through cultivating and planting a 10-hectare field planting fruit trees (1000 banana trees 6000 sugarcanes and 500 pine apple trees) vegetables and potato.
