Kuwait- His Highness the Amir patronizes KRCS golden jubilee celebration

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT -- Saad Al-Nahed the Society board member addressed a statement on behalf of the KRCS founders saying in part that the society since its proclamation in January 1966 has been supported by the Government to secure aid for catastrophes' stricken nations worldwide disclosing that more than 86 nations have benefited from the Kuwaiti help.Paying tribute to the founders who had contributed to the society founding with money and effort he mentioned the late Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Saqer Yousef Abdulazi Al-Flaij Mohmmad Yousef Al-Nisef Yousef Ibrahim Al-Ghanim Abdulaziz Al-Shaya Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Awadhi Yousef Al-Hajji in addition to others who had generously and diligently helped in launching the society -- proclaimed in an Amiri Decree in 1966.Recalling excerpts of the KRCS history Al-Nahed said the first board was headed by the late Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Saqer.The Society has a special status different from that of other public welfare associations. First article of its bylaw stipulates the principle of volunteering; where it acts as a back-up authority for official authorities particularly with respect of provision 26 of the first 1949 Geneva Convention in addition to other international conventions adopted during conferences by the Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross. "Today while we celebrate the Society 50th anniversary I praise continuing grass-root donations on all occasions namely by companies financial institutions and individuals. Even schools have played noticeable role in offering aid to the society on all occasions; in another indication of the inherent inclination for doing good among the people of Kuwait" he said.The United Nations' crowning of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with the highest award the designation as the "Humanitarian Leader" and the naming of Kuwait as the "Humanitarian Center" are boastful accomplishments for Kuwait and its people Al-Nahed said.
