(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunis January 12 (QNA) - President of Tunisia Baji Caid Essebsi met here on Tuesday with a group of general managers of Arab and European news agencies participating in the international symposium organized by the Tunis Africa Press agency marking the 55th anniversary of its founding.

During the meeting President Essebsi stressed the important role of international media in the consolidation of democracy supporting the culture of difference and freedoms. and contributing to the victory of humanity in its battle against terrorism reiterating his commitment to ensuring freedoms in Tunisia particularly the freedom of the media.

Qatar News Agency (QNA) was represented in the meeting by its Director General Ahmad Saad Al-Buainain. (QNA)
