S. Korea's unemployment ratio hits 3.2pct in Dec

(MENAFN) As fewer people were hired by agriculture and other divisions on the back of cold weather, South Korea's jobless rate climbed to 3.2pct in Dec as opposed to Nov's 3.1pct.

For the entire year of 2015, South Korea's jobless rate reached 3.6 percent, up 0.1 percentage points from a year ago, recording the utmost figure since 2010, when it touched 3.7 percent.

The total of unemployed young adults grew 3.2 percent, or 12,000, to 397,000 last year, while 68,000 young people found new jobs to raise the generation's employment rate to 41.5 percent.

"Employment usually goes down during the winter season as outdoor businesses like agriculture or tourism hire fewer people," stated the head of the agency's employment statistics division.
