Total eradication of IS in Iraq imminent: speaker

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) The visitingIraqi parliament speaker said total eradication of the Islamic State (IS) group in his country is imminent the Daily Star reported Tuesday.
Iraqi Speaker Salim al-Jabbouri was quoted following a meeting Monday evening with his Lebanese counterpart Speaker Nabih Berri.
"The greatest hope is for us to coordinate and redouble our efforts in the process of building our countries" Jabouri said during a joint news conference with Berri following the meeting.
"We have to get over political differences and bring together the different Arab sides so that we speak in one voice" he added.
Jabouri invited Berri to attend the Islamic Parliament Conference which will be held in Baghdad for the first time. He said there has been a better coordination between different nations in the battle against the IS which was evidenced in the liberation of the Iraqi city of Ramadi fro the IS.
Berri lauded Jabouri as one of the few speakers to employ a diplomatic approach to parliament's dealings.
"To be honest the visit was a surprise ... and as things go with surprises they often include joyful news" Berri said.
Jabbouri arrived in Lebanon Monday for a regional tour in preparation for the Arabic Parliaments meeting that will be hosted by Iraq.
