Yemen Peace talks postponed- UN


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Yemen peace talks originally scheduled for January 14 will be postponed a week or more later UN spokesman Ahmad Fawzi announced on Tuesday."The 14th was mentioned as a date but I don't think it's on the table any longer" he said. "I don't think the 14th is a viable date any longer. (The UN special envoy to Yemen) is looking at a date after Jan 20" Fawzi told a regular UN briefing in Geneva.He added that UN special envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed and his team are exerting all efforts to hold the talks as soon as possible.The UN envoy is trying to find a locations for holding these talks in nearby countries to Yemen if all fails he will move the talks to Switzerland.
