UAE- Empower opens AED 18 million Central Store Facility in Al Quoz

DUBAI 11th January 2016 (WAM) -- As part of its ambitious expansion plans Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation Empower the world's largest district cooling service provider has completed the construction of a Central Store Facility at a total cost AED 18m in Al Quoz Industrial area in Dubai. The 7100 sq. m. state-of-the-art facility is designed to store parts and accessories related to district cooling.

The project execution was completed in a record 6 months ahead of schedule and includes storage facilities on ground and mezzanine floors office space gantry crane loading/unloading area chemical drum storage facility and others.

"We are delighted to construct this green building as we are keen to implement the long-term national initiative 'Green Economy for Sustainable Development' launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to empower sustainable development in Dubai" said Ahmad Bin Shafar Chief Executive Officer of Empower. "The new facility is designed to conserve electricity and water consumption."

"In line with the broad expansion we are working toward the goal of extending district cooling services on a larger scale in the region. The Central Store Facility is a world-class repository that follows green standards. We have decided to do this following expanded operations following higher demand which requires us to regulate the process of supplying materials to our projects across Dubai" added bin Shafar.

Bin Shafar revealed that the new building which is strategically located to serve key areas in Dubai has been established according to the best green building standards in line with the Dubai Municipality's Green Building Regulations and Specifications. "We have implemented the highest green specifications and we are aiming to acquire the LEED certificate from The U.S. Green Building Council USGBC. For example the facility has been provided with translucent sheets for natural lighting which is an additional benefit considering it covers the main hours of work every day."

"Empower is making huge progress in its operations as it takes into account the future needs of the company. We expect strong demand from new developments in view of urban expansion in Dubai until Expo 2020. It will be our responsibility to ensure rapid response in providing district cooling for all types of real estate projects" added Bin Shafar.
