Asian top economies forecast slow growth in 2016

(MENAFN) Amid lackluster global demand and cool investments, top experts project that this year could prove to be challenging for Asian economies, with growth remaining restrained.

China's overall economic turmoil is the major contributor to this Asian crisis, with the weaker Chinese appetite for machinery and consumer goods being the biggest issue of them all.

However, leverage filled the void left by tired consumers in the West after the Global Financial Crisis, and this basically explains the resilience of top emerging Asia in recent years.

"2016 is not going to offer an easy ride. But, hang in there. With the right reforms, and yet more easing where possible, Asia should make it through its current rough patch," said a top economist.
