Oman Iran to increase direct flights

Oman and Iran have agreed to increase direct to and fro flights to 28 per week Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) has said.

Iran's Tasnim News Agency quoted Morad Esmaeili director general for legal and international Affairs at CAO as saying that the decision was taken at a recent meeting between Ali Abedzadeh head of CAO and a delegation from the sultanate including representatives of Oman Air.

The increase will take place gradually. Esmaeili said the Omani delegation including the country's envoy to Tehran announced Muscat's readiness to increase the regular flights from ten to 14 in early 2016 and 28 per week in August.

At the meeting the two sides expressed willingness to boost cooperation on air transport.
