Volkswagen rejects to buy back cars in Germany

(MENAFN) German auto giant Volkswagen refused calls by consumer groups to buy back vehicles in the country, which were affected by the massive pollution-cheating scandal.

The company claimed that there was "no basis" for repurchases in Germany, as the modalities to re-fit the affected cars had been confirmed.

Moreover, VW predicts to have to buy back almost 115,000 diesel cars in the US that have been repaired with software to twist the affects of emission tests.

Additionally, in Europe the Co. intends to start recalling this month 8.5mn affected vehicles in the area for a re-fit or adjustment.
