Turkey summons Iranian Amb. to Ankara


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA Jan 8 (KUNA) -- The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned late Thursday the Iranian Ambassador to Ankara expressing its displeasure over the Iranian media linking of the recent visit by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Saudi Arabia and the execution of 47 individuals which was carried out by Saudi authorities.The ministry asked the diplomat to convey Turkey's rejection of such notions calling on him to relay a message to Iranian state-owned media to stop the spread of such false news.The ministry also held Iran responsible for the security and safety of foreign missions on its lands stressing that the recent attacks on the Saudi embassy and consulate in Iran were unacceptable acts.Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic ties with Iran last Sunday due to the attacks on its diplomatic missions in the country.
