UAE- DEWA reviews technical advances in Estonia

DUBAI 7th January 2016 (WAM) -- A delegation from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority DEWA recently made an official visit to Estonia to meet representatives from its different government organisations.

The visit strengthened cooperation between the two sides and was aimed at broadening their knowledge on international information technology practices. During the visit the representatives from both parties discussed subjects of mutual interest particularly DEWA's efforts to transform Dubai into one of the smartest cities in the world.

The DEWA delegation was headed by Moza Al Akraf CIO of DEWA who was accompanied by other DEWA officials including Marwan Al Zaabi Acting Vice President of Corporate Excellence Ahmed Belarti Senior Manager of Smart Services Faisal Al Dashti Senior Manager of Information Security and Humaid Buhumaid Manager of Smart Adoption.

"This visit falls in line with DEWA's commitment to exchange knowledge information and skills with other international organisations in its continuous efforts to keep up to date with the latest technologies and solutions to contribute towards the UAE's position as an international role model for happy citizens and residents.

"DEWA continues to find new innovative ways of providing smart services to make living standards in Dubai the best in the world. This move represents our ongoing efforts to continuously developing our services to meet the daily needs of our customers and look at Estonia's experience in electronic security" said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD and CEO of DEWA.

"DEWA is always interested in discovering developments in international technology to further broaden our horizons. We seek to improve partnerships with other international organisations by making use of their knowledge while helping them to develop their innovative technology to improve our services. DEWA takes priority in the development of our services and our commitment to providing our customers with these services to streamline paper work registering online making suggestions and discussing observations by using the latest technologies" said Al Akraf.

The DEWA delegation was briefed on the latest developments in Estonia's smart services via a single portal which can be used by Dubai to handle big data and develop services in connection with identification. The delegation also met the departments in charge of issuing important decisions within companies and organisations and reviewed various smart tools to help raise awareness among clients and employees and the means to evaluate the efficiency of cloud security and organisational networks.

Towards the end of their stay the delegation thanked the Estonian government representatives for their hospitality.
