Iraqi Prime Minister Receives Phone Call from Obama


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Baghdad January 07 (QNA) - Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi received on Wednesday a phone call from US President Barack Obama.

According to a statement issued by the Iraqi government the US President congratulated Abadi and the Iraqi people on the victories achieved by the Iraqi forces against ISIS in Al Ramadi and other areas.

Obama reiterated his country's support for Iraq in its war against terrorism and in all what it needs in the field of air support arming and training.He also stressed the importance of Iraq's steadfastness against these challenges hailing at the same time its balanced positions and pivotal role to ease regional tensions and prevent the increase in sectarian polarization in the region.
