Egypt to invest USD 0.48bn for electricity distribution network


(MENAFN) The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company assigned USD 0.48bn to lay supply lines, transformers, and cables of medium and low power for this year.

Accordingly, electricity distribution firms need 79 medium-voltage machines that worth USD 3.15mn, medium voltage network line 1,375km long that cost of USD 29.9mn.

The holding Co. also plans to contract for 1,036 distribution transformers, 9,120 capability distribution transformers with a whole value of USD 0.20bn, and 6,347 low voltage transformers.

Additionally, the Ministry of Electricity plans to increase the competency of current stations in the coming period and to continue applying the strategy of changing simple cycle stations.
